Marian Catholic High School's Fencing Team joins us at NIFC for some practice sessions, a little coaching, and fun.
MCHS Coach Ann Jones directs a JV Foil bout while NIFC Coach Marc Ryser observes technique.
Members of both the MCHS team and the NIFC, Melen (left) and Phil (right) face off in a Saber bout on the near strip.
MCHS fencing team members Andrew and Akisha prepare to fence an Epee bout at NIFC.
We are a member club of the United States Fencing Association. Formerly known as the Merrillville Fencing Club, we changed our name to the Northwest Indiana Fencing Club when we relocated to our new facility in St. John, Indiana in 2006. While we are primarily a saber club, we also offer instruction in both epee and foil.
Our membership includes men, women, young adults, teenagers and children. While we have many members who compete regularly in USFA sponsored events, we also have a number of members who fence "for the fun of it".
Would you like to visit us?
We welcome visitors to all of our scheduled fencing sessions. Feel free to come and watch, ask questions, meet our club members and see our facility. Check the Club Schedule page to find out which session is convenient for you to attend, find out where we are located on the Directions to Our Club page, and then come on down.

MUNSTER MIDDLE SCHOOLER SUCCEEDS TAKING A STAB AT SOMETHING NEW
Many of our members choose to participate in USFA tournaments. While these tournaments are purely optional, participating in the occasional tournament can be fun for even recreational fencers as they have the opportunity to meet other fencers in the area and enjoy the fellowship of a tournament.
